Made-to-order pieces

Every piece I make is built to your measurements, in your choice of wood, finish and legs. Because of that it can't be resold to anyone else, and the usual 14-day right to cancel a distance purchase doesn't apply to custom-made goods.

So I can't take a piece back because you've changed your mind. Please check your measurements before you order. If you're unsure about a size, email me first and I'll help you work it out. I'd much rather spend ten minutes on that than have you end up with something that doesn't fit.

If something is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered

This is different, and your rights here aren't affected by anything above.

Have a look at your order when it arrives. If it's damaged, defective, or not what you ordered, email me at adrian@thesomersetworkshop.com as soon as you can and I'll put it right. Depending on what's happened, that might mean a repair, a replacement, or a refund.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If yours aren't, you can reject them within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. After that you're entitled to a repair or replacement, and if that doesn't resolve it, a refund or a price reduction.

Damage in transit

Everything goes out flat-packed and well protected, but couriers are couriers. If your order arrives damaged, take a photo before you unpack any further and send it over. Transit damage is mine to sort out, not yours.

Natural variation in solid wood

Solid wood isn't uniform, and that's rather the point of buying it. Knots, grain variation, colour differences between boards, and small seasonal movement are natural characteristics rather than faults. Osmo oil also takes slightly differently on different boards. If something looks wrong to you, send me a photo and I'll tell you honestly whether it's normal or whether I need to fix it.
