The Halse is our solid oak desk, handcrafted from premium British oak and built to order from our Somerset workshop. It brings the same clean, contemporary lines as The Bruton, with the durability and natural warmth that only real hardwood can offer.
British oak is known for its pale golden colour, strong grain character, and exceptional hardness — a desktop that gets better with age. Finished with Osmo Polyx-Oil to protect the surface while keeping it looking and feeling completely natural. Paired with your choice of steel leg style, it works equally well in a dedicated home office or a living space that doubles as a workspace.
Available in a range of widths (80–200cm) and depths (50–80cm), with six leg style options to suit your space. Standard thickness is 32mm; however, I can also do a version that is 40mm thick, or make the desk to your exact custom size — please contact me for a quote.

Solid wood is a natural living, breathing material that ages over time. It has characteristics that include cracks in the wood, knots, mineral deposits, inclusions, as well as grain and pigment variations (sometimes wood filler is required) some natural movement is to be expected. However, these things do not interfere with the structural integrity.
