The Halse is our solid oak bench, handcrafted from premium English oak and built to order from our Somerset workshop. The natural partner to the Halse Table — and just as at home in a hallway, kitchen or at the end of a bed.
English oak is known for its pale golden colour, strong grain character, and exceptional hardness — a seat that gets better with age. Finished with Osmo Polyx-Oil to protect the surface while keeping the natural feel of the timber, and paired with your choice of powder-coated steel leg styles, handmade in England.
Because every bench is made to order, you choose the exact length to suit your table or your space. A bench tucks completely under the table when not in use — the simplest way to seat more people in less room. Pair it with the Halse Table in the same oak and finish for a matched set.

Overall seat height is just over 43cm — 40cm powder-coated steel legs topped with a 32mm solid timber seat. The standard height to pair with a 75cm dining table.

Fixings
Each bench is supplied with the legs and the fixings needed to attach them to the underside of the seat — pre-drilled and ready to assemble in minutes with a Phillips screwdriver. No specialist tools required.▪ The metal legs have been cleaned & prepped along with a black powder-coated finish.
▪ Our legs may vary slightly in colour & texture as they are handmade.
▪ All our rustic furniture is supplied in flat pack form, assembly is simple & takes 15 minutes.

Each bench is handcrafted to your specification, so we're unable to accept returns unless the item arrives damaged or faulty. If anything's wrong with your order, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery and we'll put it right.
Care Guide
Care Guide
Wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners. The Osmo Polyx-Oil finish is hard-wearing and food-safe, and resists everyday spills if dealt with promptly.
To refresh the finish every few years, lightly key the surface with a fine sanding pad and apply a thin coat of Osmo Polyx-Oil. Allow to dry fully before use.
