The Halse is our solid oak dining table, handcrafted from premium English oak and built to order from our Somerset workshop. It brings clean, contemporary lines with the durability and natural warmth that only real hardwood can offer — a centrepiece for your kitchen or dining room.
English oak is known for its pale golden colour, strong grain character, and exceptional hardness — a tabletop that gets better with age. Finished with Osmo Polyx-Oil to protect the surface while keeping it looking and feeling completely natural. Paired with your choice of steel leg style, it suits everything from a farmhouse kitchen to a modern open-plan living space.
Available in a range of widths (100–200cm) and depths (50–80cm), with four leg style options to suit your space. Standard thickness is 32mm; however, I can also do a version that is 40mm thick, or make the table to your exact custom size — please contact me for a quote.
Want the tabletop on its own? Choose the “Tabletop no legs” option to buy just the solid oak top on its own — supplied as the tabletop only, with no legs, screws or fittings. Ideal if you already have a base, trestles or your own legs.

Leg height is 71cm, and the 32mm top adds its own thickness on top, so the total height is 74.2cm. If you order a 40mm top, it comes to 75cm.

All our Box Frame Legs are handmade in England, UK.
▪ The metal legs have been cleaned & prepped along with a black powder-coated finish.
▪ Our legs may vary slightly in colour & texture as they are handmade.
▪ All our rustic furniture is supplied in flat pack form, assembly is simple & takes 15 minutes.

Every piece is made to your measurements, so I can't accept a return because you've changed your mind. Please check your sizes before ordering, and email me first if you're unsure.
If your order arrives damaged, faulty or not what you ordered, email adrian@thesomersetworkshop.com straight away and I'll put it right with a repair, replacement or refund. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Care Guide
When cleaning your furniture use a clean, dry, non-abrasive cloth. For this product we recommend Osmo Spray Cleaner.
Solid wood is a natural living, breathing material that ages over time. It has characteristics that include cracks in the wood, knots, mineral deposits, inclusions, as well as grain and pigment variations (sometimes wood filler is required) some natural movement is to be expected. However, these things do not interfere with the structural integrity.
